Trauma & PTSD Counseling
Are you haunted by your past?
Real, lasting help is possible and it’s just a phone call away.
While Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a formal diagnosis that applies to some, almost everyone has experienced trauma in some form like bullying, abuse, violence, sudden loss, or the death of a loved one (including pets).
The bad news: No therapist can erase the trauma you experienced; it’s part of your life story.
The good news: It’s often the false beliefs you internalized after the trauma (“I’m not safe,” “I’m not worthy”) that cause the most harm, and those can be changed.
Our trauma therapy approach is fast, targeted, and powerful. We help you face pain instead of avoiding it and replace lies with truth, so you can live free from the grip of the past.
Our Trauma Resolution Methods
We use highly effective, evidence-based techniques to help you heal from trauma, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and other targeted interventions. These approaches work to reprocess painful memories, reduce emotional triggers, and restore a sense of safety and control, often in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.
What is ART?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that combines guided eye movements (similar to those experienced during sleep) with specific therapeutic techniques to target distressing memories. This approach helps reprogram how those memories are stored in the brain, reducing or eliminating the intense emotional and physical reactions tied to them.
Who is ART for?
ART can help with:
How does it work?
Trauma can keep your brain “stuck” in fight, flight, or freeze mode. EMDR helps the brain process and store those memories in a healthier way, allowing natural healing to resume. You still remember the event, but it no longer triggers overwhelming emotional or physical responses.
“Something changed the first time I experienced EMDR, and if I could put one word on it… it would be HOPE.”
What is EFT?
EFT, sometimes called “tapping,” is a gentle mind-body approach that combines elements of cognitive therapy with acupressure. By tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on distressing thoughts or memories, EFT helps calm the body’s stress response and reframe the emotional experience.
EFT is effective for:
Benefit: EFT can quickly lower emotional intensity, helping you feel calmer, more in control, and better able to address the root of the issue.
